I'm so glad we found this place, I had been looking for a good martial arts class for myself and my child. The coaches are great, really patient and respectful with the kids teaching them the techniques but also the value of discipline, listening well in class and healthy competitiveness between one another. They keep the facility clean which is super important to me. The prices are amazing for how much value and time you get with classes and the coaches. Km k lL

I am a new student at both the scranton and wilkes barre location. Sensei Tyler is a amazing bjj teacher. Walks you through each step of every technique. Very personable. Makes learning fun.

Wilkes Barre MMA for all your mixed martial art classes! I personally have done striking here (Muay Thai) and the teachers are incredible. Randy and Cam took care of coaching us through drills and the class is fun and an amazing workout even if you’re not looking for a “fight class”. Join to be in the best physical shape of your life!

This was a copy and paste of my GoodTreeMMA review but it covers pretty much everything. As both locations are incredible and I don’t think I could ask for more in a martial arts training environment. But, in the case of just the Wilkes Barre location coach Tyler is the best!!! (Not that the rest of the instructors aren’t great as well 😂) Honestly the opening of the wilkes barre location is the reason I started. I’d known of different locations/schools out of the area but I have a crazy work schedule and sometimes a long commute is out of the question. Granted now that I’ve started I try and visit both locations weekly. Even if just on a day off. It’s well worth the drive to better myself on this journey. I mention to take that first step later in the overall review but DO NOT WAIT! If you have even the slightest inkling on starting martial arts training take a chance and check them out. Either location, Wilkes Barre MMA or GoodTree MMA. It changed my life and maybe it will change yours too
I have nothing but good things to say about GoodTree MMA Wilkes Barre/Scranton. The instructors at both locations are all very knowledgeable in their respective disciplines. They all take the time to make sure each participant knows and understands the techniques. At the same time they push you to be the best version of yourself. These martial arts can be physically demanding and each one of the instructors ensure your getting the most out of your training. Now let’s talk about variety. They offer BJJ, Muay Thai, Judo, MMA and kids BJJ and MMA. More then enough options for anyone who specializes in one of the arts. And definitely enough for someone like myself who was looking to train and learn across multiple disciplines. Between both locations you can essentially train 7 days a week and multiple times on each day if your able. As for the other participants, again nothing but good things to say. You’ll make great friendships with like minded individuals who also push you and make sure your learning and growing. If you want to take a martial art and live within driving distance of either location (DONT WAIT). Take that first step and I’m sure you won’t regret it. That will be the hardest part but totally worth it. I didn’t take that step until about a month after my 35th birthday. My only regret is that I didn’t start sooner

I found Wilkes - barre mma a few weeks after it’s grand opening, I’ve been attending classes for 6 months. The owner & Instructor Tyler along with the assistant instructors are very knowledgeable.
Each technique is methodically shown and well verbalized but when I’m making silly white belt mistakes, Tyler & the other instructors have no issues with getting back down on the mats and reshowing the technique.
